The Hg Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of the third phase of expansion for the mA*ths Online Programmes, made possible by co-funding from XTX Markets managed by Purposeful Ventures.
We are inviting up to two additional high tariff universities to join the network for delivery of the programmes from the 2026/27 academic year, each reaching 500 students over the next 3 years.
The programmes are designed to support disadvantaged A Level Maths and Further Maths students to achieve the top grades in the subjects, opening up entry into STEM-related degrees at competitive universities.
Since their launch in 2019, the programmes have supported hundreds of students across leading institutions including founding university Imperial College London and The University of Manchester, University of Bath and University of Warwick, with the support of Maths partner MEI (Mathematics in Education and Industry).
The purpose of this next phase of expansion is to increase national reach, particularly in areas where there is currently no provision, including East of England, East Midlands, North East and Yorkshire and The Humber.
Assessing the impact of the programmes is also an important part of this next phase. All university partners will take part in an overarching evaluation, consisting of internal monitoring and tracking of participants, plus an independent external evaluation analysing the impact on A Level results and university progression.
